Job Title: Respiratory Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Technician to join our team at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Care Technician will perform pulmonary function testing, administer respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, and serve as a resource for team members and other care providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients and recommend respiratory therapy treatments.
  • Plan, prepare, and administer respiratory therapy treatments, including IPPB, aerosol, ultrasonic nebulizer, chest physical therapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions.
  • Perform diagnostic pulmonary tests, such as pulmonary function, lung capacity, and arterial blood analyses.
  • Teach patients to perform breathing exercises and use intermittent positive pressure breathing therapy machines.
  • Administer aerosolized cardiopulmonary drugs, including bronchodilators, mucolytics, and antibiotics.
  • Follow all safety rules applying to gas cylinders, ventilators, and all electrical equipment.
  • Record patient treatment, response, and progress.
  • Set up, operate, inspect, test, maintain, and monitor mechanical breathing apparatus/respirators, flowmeters, nebulizers, and other respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary-related emergency codes and assist by maintaining the patient's airway and administering oxygen.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree and current CRT or RRT required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role required.
  • BLS certification required.
Working Conditions:

The Respiratory Care Technician will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times is also required.
