Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory therapy department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Evaluate patients for appropriate respiratory therapy services and develop personalized care plans based on their unique needs.
  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and ventilator management.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, including oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about respiratory health and disease management, including the use of respiratory equipment and medications.
  • Assist with the maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, and aerosol generators.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or a related field.
  • Current registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) in the state of Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends. Our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively to achieve our goals.
