Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in our Internal Medicine practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and immunizations, and obtain vital signs as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure a safe and efficient patient flow.
  • Track high-risk referrals and lab tests, and facilitate safe transitions of care.
  • Organize the practice environment to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Contribute to HEDIS and designated quality measures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant required, with successful completion of the AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA (NAHP), NCMA(NCCT), RCMAS(NCMA), or CCMA(NHA) exam within 3 months of hire.
  • Five or more years of specific applicable MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training, provided eligibility for RMA(American Medical Technologists) exam.
  • A valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years' experience in an ambulatory care setting.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: Minimum $17.56 per hour - Maximum $28.99 per hour + 8% geographical differential pay added to the base rate. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
