Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced chemical engineer to join our Materials Manufacturing area, where you will be responsible for researching and testing nuclear fuel and cladding materials. Your expertise will be crucial in planning, designing, and deploying laboratory equipment, as well as developing models of unit operations and analyzing data to test and verify process models.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with a team of engineering, laboratory, facility, and compliance organizations to enable and conduct test programs.
- Plan, design, and manufacture laboratory equipment, including nuclear, chemical, mechanical, structural, and electrical components and systems.
- Develop models of unit operations and execute testing and analysis of data to test and verify process models.
- Develop and fabricate unique materials systems, including small-scale production demonstrations.
- Document progress, analyze results, and conduct presentations as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field, or a Master's degree in a related field with relevant experience.
- At least 9 years of relevant experience, or 7 years with a Master's degree.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, control systems, and chemical engineering.
- Experience with data analytics, statistical design of experiments, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in software programming skills in LabVIEW and Python environments.
