Position Responsibilities

**Significant bonuses available for Registered Nurses new to state service who commit to two years of employment.
*A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for new hires with a one-year written agreement.
*An additional $7,500 retention bonus will be awarded after one year of service, contingent upon a one-year written agreement.

-These bonuses are applicable to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) who are new to the organization or have not been employed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for at least one year.

Western State Hospital is looking for LPNs for both 1st and 2nd shifts. LPNs will work either two 8-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.

We welcome both recent graduates and seasoned professionals to join our team as full-time Licensed Practical Nurses on rotating shifts, with required holiday and weekend schedules. The LPN will deliver high-quality nursing care to psychiatric and geriatric patients, adhering to established nursing standards and practices within their licensure scope. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, maintaining patient documentation, promoting health education, and ensuring continuity of care through effective communication. The ability to observe and interpret equipment indicators is essential.

Shift Differential Compensation:
-1st shift weekend differential of $3.00/hr.
-2nd shift differential of $3.50/hr., applicable on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
