We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Jansky Fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). As a Jansky Fellow, you will have the opportunity to conduct independent research in radio astronomy, working closely with our team of scientists and engineers to advance our understanding of the universe.

About the Position

The Jansky Fellowship is a two-year postdoctoral research position that provides a unique opportunity for early-career scientists to conduct independent research in radio astronomy. As a Jansky Fellow, you will have access to our state-of-the-art facilities, including the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA), and the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA). You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our team of scientists and engineers to develop new research projects and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research in radio astronomy, working closely with our team of scientists and engineers
  • Develop and implement new research projects and techniques
  • Collaborate with our team to advance our understanding of the universe
  • Present research findings at conferences and workshops
Requirements
  • PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, or a related field
  • Excellent research skills and experience in radio astronomy
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
