Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver ongoing supportive housing guidance and advocacy to individuals transitioning from shelter environments.
  • Coordinate aftercare housing counseling services for a designated caseload, aligning with the agency's mission and vision.
  • Facilitate individual case management, advocacy, needs assessments, action planning, and evaluations based on established professional standards.
  • Accompany clients to essential appointments to secure and maintain safe independent housing.
  • Provide continuous in-home and telephonic support, informal counseling, and make referrals to external resources as necessary.
  • Assist clients in applying for relocation funding assistance.
  • Identify and develop new resources, create informational materials, and network with community organizations regarding housing, financial literacy, tenant rights, and other relevant topics for survivors of domestic violence.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in social services or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in direct service or advocacy is mandatory; experience in a residential context is highly preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with a diverse population is essential, with experience in urban settings being advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork skills are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience addressing domestic violence issues is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in case management is preferred.
  • Skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, group facilitation, and counseling are strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of criminal (state & FBI) and child abuse clearances is required prior to hiring.
  • Completion of Domestic Violence Advocate Training is mandatory.
Schedule and Compensation:

This position operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.81 per hour, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, paid time off, and more.
