Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum years of experience will vary based on individual qualifications.
  • Experience in a traveler role is preferred.
  • Local candidates are defined as those residing within 60 miles.
Essential Skills

Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Managing a 1:3 patient ratio in a combined adult/pediatric emergency setting.
  • Interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
  • Administering blood products and managing central lines.
  • Performing phlebotomy and starting IVs.
  • Providing emergency medications and managing ventilated patients.
  • Handling a variety of emergency conditions including trauma, respiratory issues, and psychiatric emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional certifications and experience that would be beneficial include:

  • CPI, MAB, NIH (NRP can substitute for PALS).
  • Experience in community hospitals and pediatric emergency departments.
  • Knowledge of MedHost and arterial line management.
Work Schedule

This position requires:

  • Shift: 3x12 Nights
  • Call Requirement: None
  • Float Requirement: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit Specific Information

Key details about the unit include:

  • Average Daily Census: 22 patients
  • Rooms: 5
  • Special Equipment: Bi-Pap, Vapotherm (High flow NC), LTV transport ventilator
  • Unit Systems: Pyxis, MedHost, SBAR
  • Orientation: Up to 24 hours based on RN experience
Additional Requirements

All candidates must provide:

  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • AHA certification (Instructor or Provider); RQI acceptable for ER and Med Surg
  • Primary source verification prior to facility start
  • Signed acknowledgment covering Joint Commission Training Safety Manual
  • Tdap vaccine (updated every 10 years)
  • Drug screen within the last 12 months
  • Flu vaccine during flu season (declinations not accepted)
