Key Responsibilities

This role involves providing logistical support and waste management services for various events and programs organized by City Departments, including:
  • Transporting, setting up, and dismantling event logistics equipment and supplies.
  • Loading vehicles with necessary equipment, delivering to event locations, and arranging setups according to plans.
  • Monitoring grounds and managing waste disposal during events.
  • Breaking down, cleaning, and returning equipment to storage after events.
  • Operating City vehicles with a capacity of up to 2,600 lbs, along with other equipment and utility vehicles.
  • Maintaining an inventory of event supplies.
  • Setting up portable stages, tents, tables, chairs, and sound systems.
  • Managing trash and recycling stations.
  • Performing minor repairs and cleaning of equipment.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Familiarity with the tools and equipment necessary for the role.

Education: High school diploma or GED

Certificates / Licenses: A valid NC Class 'C' Driver's License is required. A Class B Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

Additional Information

Schedule: This position is part-time, with a maximum of 999 hours per year. The work schedule is flexible, depending on events and programming needs. Typical hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm during peak season, with frequent weekend and evening shifts to support events. This role does not exceed 35 hours per week.

Physical Requirements: This position entails significant physical labor, including but not limited to, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting/moving up to 80 pounds. Employees may be exposed to various weather conditions, noise, and other environmental factors.
