Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Activities, Recreation, and Care. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, enabling them to live independently and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
  • Engage residents in activities that promote their independence and dignity, such as conversation, companionship, and outings.
  • Administer medications as outlined and trained, and maintain a safe environment for residents.
  • Supervise and participate in individual and group outings, and drive residents to and from appointments as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete staff trainings, and maintain a valid CA driver's license and clean driving record.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word and email.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification, and ability to pass state and federal level background check and Live Scan fingerprinting.
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers, and communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
Working Conditions

The Direct Support Professional will work primarily in a home setting, and may come in contact with bodily fluids which could potentially contain bloodborne pathogens. The position involves preparing meals and requires contact with meat, poultry, and other food related products. Frequent lifting of up to 50lbs is required, and may drive company vehicle in busy traffic and during inclement weather.
