Pilot Plant Technician Job Description

At Joulé, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pilot Plant Technician to join our team. As a Pilot Plant Technician, you will be responsible for safely operating equipment, understanding food safety requirements, and performing risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • High School Degree Required
  • 3-5 years of directly relatable experience and/or 2-Year Degree Preferred
  • Steel Toe Boots/Shoes required
  • Ability to lift, manipulate, transport up to 55 lbs.
  • Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)
  • Strong communication skills with peers and with customers
  • Basic understanding of food safety and human safety
  • Ability to work in hot/warm/cool conditions within the plant
  • Ability to consistently & repeatedly lift, manipulate & transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in a similar field
  • Foodservice experience
  • Passionate around the creation of food, CPG industry, and consumer trends (both food and packaging)
  • Effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Experience of working in teams to deliver results
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment
  • Comfortable operating equipment
  • Desire to learn new concepts quickly and apply in productive ways
  • Maturity to navigate through stressful situations
  • Ability to assess and solve technical/mechanical problems
  • Strong self-starter and holds a high regard for quality of work
