The Pediatric Ambulatory Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team at Boston Medical Center (BMC), responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in outpatient settings. This role requires a skilled nurse to coordinate and manage care for pediatric and adolescent patients, ensuring comprehensive and collaborative care that optimizes patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to promote self-management skills and empower patients to take an active role in their care
- Stay up-to-date on current ambulatory therapies and research, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care
- Diploma, ASN, or BSN degree in nursing
- Current RN licensure in the state of MA, or ability to obtain reciprocity license prior to start
- Basic life support (BLS) certification, and PALS/ACLS certification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills
- 3-5 years of inpatient pediatric experience
- 1-2 years of experience in ambulatory clinic/outpatient or diagnostic testing setting
- Knowledge of population health and relevance to practice
- Experience with care coordination and transitions of care as related to ambulatory practice
