Key Responsibilities:
Vulnerability Assessment:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of vulnerability reports from various sources to ascertain their validity and potential impact on our applications.
- Offer expert advice to development teams on effective remediation strategies, including code modifications and secure coding practices.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Incorporate threat intelligence into vulnerability management protocols.
- Analyze threat data to identify risks and suggest proactive measures.
Security Tool Management:
- Oversee and configure vulnerability scanning tools and other security technologies.
- Enhance tool configurations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and document processes to improve team efficiency.
- Maintain regular communication with management for collaboration and information sharing.
- Generate periodic reports on vulnerability status and remediation efforts.
Security Awareness Training:
- Foster a culture of security awareness through training sessions and sharing insights on emerging threats.
Scripting, Coding & Automation:
- Create scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks within the vulnerability management process.
- Write and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating scanning and remediation activities.
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Engage in audits to validate vulnerability management processes.
- Implement controls to meet compliance requirements related to vulnerabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in vulnerability management.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with common vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools.
- Knowledge of vulnerability scoring systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CISSP, CISM, or similar certification.
- Experience with vulnerability management in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
