Job Summary:
This role entails overseeing a team of roustabouts in executing various oilfield services, which encompass new well development, upkeep, and additional roustabout tasks. The crew will operate an array of machinery, including but not limited to tractors, trucks, trailers, and maintenance tools. The Roustabout Crew Pusher will provide hands-on leadership to roustabout laborers, ensuring optimal job performance through effective crew management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver continuous training, guidance, and development for roustabout laborers, promoting efficient and productive work practices.
- Facilitate transportation to and from job sites as required, utilizing company vehicles and trailers, which may necessitate a commercial driver's license. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of company vehicles and equipment in collaboration with mechanics and supervisors.
- Ensure secure and compliant transportation of necessary equipment in line with company policies and DOT regulations.
- Guarantee that the crew is equipped with all essential safety and work gear, conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment and PPE.
- Conduct and document Job Safety Analyses and Pre-Job Safety Meetings to address hazards prior to commencing work.
- Complete and submit Field Tickets or other documentation reflecting crew work hours.
- Maintain effective communication with field management regarding job progress, hazards, and crew needs.
- Adhere to all company and location safety and DOT policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Supervise roustabout laborers to foster skill enhancement and safety.
- Set up pumping units, batteries, and treaters, along with performing maintenance on wells and related equipment.
- Diagnose equipment issues to ensure proper functionality.
- Resourcefully coordinate equipment for consecutive jobs as requested by clients.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery to clients.
- Possess knowledge of tools and equipment used in the oil and gas sector.
- Basic mathematical skills for common calculations.
- Demonstrate professionalism and motivation in completing assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Capable of safely operating all vehicles and equipment related to roustabout tasks.
- Proficient in using computers and software such as Microsoft Office, email, and timekeeping programs.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, management, and relevant third parties involved in job execution.
Education & Experience:
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in roustabout operations.
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
- Basic understanding of construction and roustabout tools and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of supervisory experience in roustabout operations.
- Valid Class A CDL.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are essential. This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks safely.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is typically loud. Work is primarily conducted outdoors and may occur at client facilities or job sites, often in inclement or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
