Pre/Post-Operative Registered Nurse

The Staff Nurse is responsible for evaluating the requirements of diverse patient populations, including adults, children, adolescents, and seniors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Accredited nursing degree
  • Valid registered nurse license in the relevant state
  • At least three years of experience in a nursing role
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification
Essential Responsibilities

  • Conducts thorough assessments and data collection in a systematic and ongoing manner, concentrating on physiological, psychological, and cognitive aspects
  • Develops a prioritized, goal-oriented care plan based on nursing diagnoses and expected patient outcomes
  • Delivers care in a knowledgeable and consistent manner to achieve desired patient outcomes through established nursing processes
  • Prioritizes patient care based on critical needs and available resources, including time, personnel, equipment, and supplies
  • Responds effectively in emergency situations by adhering to established protocols, maintaining composure, and documenting events accurately
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge base in medical/surgical patient care, pain management, pharmacology, laboratory values, safety, legal considerations, and emergency equipment
  • Employs effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Completes documentation duties promptly, accurately, and concisely in patient records
  • Collaborates as part of a healthcare team to provide optimal patient care
  • Maintains current CPR/ACLS certification
  • Participates in mandatory training sessions and staff meetings
  • Remains adaptable and open to new ideas and methodologies
  • Upholds the institution's Patient Rights policy by treating all patients with respect and equality
  • Executes physician orders in a professional manner
  • Willingly assists with additional responsibilities as needed
