Pulmonary Medicine LPN Job Description

Christie Clinic's department of Pulmonary Medicine is seeking a part-time, benefit-eligible LPN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of practical nursing experience in a clinical setting and be able to work 32 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by the provider.
  • Prepare equipment and assist the provider during treatment, examination, and/or testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medication and/or treatment to the provider.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and providers regarding complaints and concerns.
  • Instruct patients and families regarding medication, treatment instructions, and patient education.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
  • Assist the provider with office procedures.
  • Perform allergy testing and administer injections as directed.
  • Maintain drug samples and MSR's, and perform related work as required.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a practical school of nursing.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Correctable vision to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and bodily fluids. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
