Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Alexandria, VA.

The ideal candidate will possess both the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification, with hands-on technical experience with Cisco collaboration tools, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) / Cisco CallManager (CM), and Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) and Meeting Server/ VQ.

Responsibilities:
  • Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans
  • Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews
  • Support the network operations of the Production system
  • Provides team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
  • Develops, implements, and manages network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability
  • Performs capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
  • Pro-actively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership
Qualifications:
  • An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8) years relevant experience; or a Master's degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; or a PhD and three (3) years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED and 12 relevant years of experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree
  • Must possess both a CCNA Certification and CCNP Certification
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits
  • Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)

This role requires flexibility with scheduled support of occasional ASI/outages after hours and on weekends. This role is approved for Hybrid support, Flexible for occasional telework - must be local to work location. May require up to 10% travel, based on customer needs.
