Job Title: Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Regency Integrated Health Services. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in conducting assessments and reassessments of rehabilitation needs and potential, planning, implementing, and supervising therapeutic programs to improve or restore communicative and swallowing abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments of patients' communication and swallowing disorders using diagnostic and prognostic procedures.
  • Plan, implement, and supervise individualized therapeutic programs to restore and/or improve communicative activities of daily living and treat swallowing disorders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Rehab Director and other professionals to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care.
  • Guide and teach patients in techniques, exercises, or precautions designed to improve their ability to swallow and communicate.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' reactions to treatment and any changes in their condition or treatment.
  • Document the extent of patients' involvement in decisions affecting their care.
  • Instruct other agency personnel and patients' family members in activities of speech therapy in which they may safely and effectively assist the patient.
  • Participate in patient case conferences to coordinate the patient's plan of care and promote positive therapeutic outcomes.
  • Participate in continuous assessment and evaluation of the agency via Quarterly Record Review or the Quality Assurance/Improvement Program.
  • Maintain state guidelines and appropriate documentation when supervising an Assistant in speech.
  • Maintain a code of ethics set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) from a University program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Current licensure by the state of Texas to practice as a Speech-Language-Pathologist.
  • Has been granted a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • One (1) year experience in Speech Language Pathology in a home health setting preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Sight and hearing sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication, ability to work a minimum of eight (8) hours per day while driving, standing, sitting, and completing reports and documentation.

Work Environment:

Must have a car with current insurance coverage and a state driver's license. Must be able to adapt to client status and needs as directed. Schedule changes daily due to client condition and needs, new clients, etc.
