Job Title: Telecommunications Systems Engineer

LS Technologies, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Systems Engineer to join our team in Atlantic City, NJ. As a Telecommunications Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing telecommunications systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Responsibilities:
  • Apply comprehensive telecommunications principles to support the investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, testing, and evaluation of National Airspace System (NAS) equipment and procedures.
  • Develop and review NAS-related technical documents and plans.
  • Conduct formal system testing activities for specific NAS equipment types, ensuring compliance with FAA and industry standards and project requirements.
  • Analyze documented user requirements and lead the development of comprehensive test plans that align with user needs.
  • Actively participate in all phases of risk management assessment and system development, providing strategic insights.
  • Ensure meticulous alignment of test design and documentation with FAA clients and agency standards within allocated timelines and budgets.
  • Validate test conclusions and recommendations, substantiating them with thorough analysis and documented test results.
  • Work with FAA organizations to assist in meeting the overall mission of their organization.
  • Attend meetings with integrated teams of expertise to evaluate progress and discuss test results and develop future test plans to meet key program-related milestones.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • FAA NAS knowledge preferred.
  • High degree of knowledge in telecommunications, network elements, TDM, IP, VOIP, analog services, and LTE.
  • High level of understanding of telecommunications theory and terminology with an ability to converse with other experts in the telecommunications arena.
  • Knowledgeable in telecommunications, network elements, IP, VOIP, analog services, and LTE layers 1, 2, and 3.
  • Understand serial interface (RS 232, 530, V.35) operations and modem technologies.
  • Understand T1-based digital voice and data services.
  • Experience with IP, serial data, and voice test equipment to verify connectivity and performance.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide telecommunications service provision, telecommunications contracts, requirements development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in the development and management of telecommunications and network monitoring.
  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar credits.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, and project management skills, written and oral communication skills, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and ability to self-prioritize multiple activities.
  • Ability to effectively initiate actions, collaborate with others, and drive action items to resolution.
  • 11-15 years of experience.
Work Requirements:
  • Work location: Atlantic City, NJ.
  • Work Hours: Hybrid. Normal working hours.
  • Travel: 15%.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
    • Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
    • Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
    • Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
  • Background check: Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Compensation (Pay Bands):

Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LST's total compensation package for employees. In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C.
