Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Georgetown Community Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing response to ordered therapy, monitoring and recording patient condition, and educating patients and families about their illness.

Responsibilities
  • Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Associate's degree.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Required Licenses: Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Minimum Work Experience: Two years experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
Work Environment

Georgetown Community Hospital is a full-time, night shift position with rotating weekends.
