Job Summary:
As an Occupational Health Nurse at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our associates. This position requires a highly skilled and compassionate nurse who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for associates during onboarding and throughout their employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety programs to promote a safe work environment.
- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses for employees, including follow-ups and referrals.
- Monitor the health status of employees and provide guidance on physical and mental health issues.
- Collaborate with the Incident Command Team to oversee and implement Associate Health emergency and disaster preparedness programs.
- Communicate test results to patients and establish a plan of care in person, by phone, or mail as directed by the provider.
- Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.
- Stock patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization, and dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
- Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and/or concerns to the practice manager and/or healthcare provider(s).
- Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.
- Work and maintain the front office/desk for the department.
- Answer the phone in a courteous and timely manner.
- Maintain appointments.
- Process associate transfers and immunization records.
- Data entry into various Intermountain Health data systems.
- Process billing and invoices of the department, which includes contact with vendors and internal accounts payable.
Requirements:
- ASN from an accredited program; BSN within 4 years.
- Current Colorado RN license.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
- One year of nursing experience in a comparable setting, preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification, Occupational Health.
- Certification, Certified Case Management.
- Certification of Occupational Health Nurse (COHN).
Physical Requirements:
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.
- Detailed oriented, highly organized, and flexible.
- Professional and excellent interpersonal and outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
