Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Cardiac Surgery team at Boston Medical Center. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribe medications, and assist in surgery or other invasive procedures.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to develop and implement patient care plans, and provide education to patients and families on preventive care, medical issues, and treatment options.
  • Document patient medical records, including initial evaluations, follow-up care, and unusual incidents or problems.
  • Ensure treatment and consultations are consistent with NCQA, TJC, and federal and state regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a PA Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) or its predecessor.
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) PANCE eligible and eligible for PA licensure in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration (if prescribing medications is included in clinical duties and privileges).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Cardiac surgery.
  • Endoscopic vein harvesting.
