Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Advanced Heart Failure team at Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with advanced heart failure, including those undergoing heart transplantation and ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation.
- Manage acute and chronic co-morbidities, including hypertension, diabetes, and coronary artery disease.
- Perform comprehensive physical exams, obtain complete histories, and assess normal and abnormal findings.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including echocardiograms and cardiac catheterizations.
- Administer and prescribe medications, including vasodilators and inotropes.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Advanced Practice Nursing.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a relevant specialty (e.g., Cardiology, Critical Care).
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a cardiac surgery or advanced heart failure setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
