As a specialty referral center, Harper has developed Centers of Excellence in various fields including neurosciences, bariatric surgery, and cardiovascular services.

Key Responsibilities:

Under general supervision and adhering to established protocols, the Advanced Imaging Specialist will:

  • Confirm patient identity and assess medical records to ensure the appropriateness of the examination.
  • Conduct patient interviews to gather and verify medical history, identifying any risk factors.
  • Thoroughly explain procedures to patients, detailing potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Prepare imaging equipment and capture necessary images as per established guidelines.
  • Review and interpret images, documenting any deviations from standard protocols and communicating findings to the radiologist.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies as they arise.
  • Provide post-procedure care instructions as directed by the physician.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department, focusing on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Deliver educational support to residents, student technologists, and new staff members.
  • Be available for on-call duties as required by the department, and may perform Radiologic Technologist duties as needed.
Qualifications:

1. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT).

2. Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required by the end of the orientation period.

3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for adult settings, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year for cardiology settings.

4. A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology is preferred.
