Position Overview

As a Rental Technician, you will be responsible for delivering and retrieving equipment and supplies from customer job sites using vehicles with a gross weight of less than 26,000 pounds.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and secure equipment effectively.
  • Transport equipment and supplies over long distances.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage to customers upon delivery.
  • Service equipment as necessary to maintain optimal operating conditions at job sites.
  • Communicate equipment issues with customers and the Service Manager to ensure satisfaction.
  • Refuel equipment on-site as required.
  • Conduct safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work vehicle.
  • Adhere to all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety regulations.
  • Complete inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, ensuring compliance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping standards.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a current CDL license with a HazMat endorsement and maintain a quality driving record.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Language Skills:
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and effectively present information to management.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and hauling.
  • Ownership and effective use of mechanic's tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with delivery areas and safety requirements for equipment handling and transport is a plus.

Candidates must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule, which may include availability on weekends and holidays.

The physical demands of this position include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, as well as working indoors and outdoors as required.
