Nando's Prep Cooks are essential to our culinary operations, ensuring that delicious meals are crafted with precision and care. In this role, you will take charge of daily food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen management.

Our prep cooks are vital in upholding the quality of our dishes by utilizing fresh ingredients, adhering to hygiene standards, and meticulously following recipes to ensure product consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare food items consistently and in a hygienic manner.
  • Maintain product quality by properly rotating both perishable and non-perishable goods.
  • Ensure flavor consistency through regular taste tests.
  • Reduce kitchen waste and optimize ingredient usage to control food costs.
  • Assist with inventory management by counting supplies and placing orders as needed.
  • Follow recipes and operational procedures with precision.
  • Restock supplies during shifts as necessary.
  • Store and label food items accurately.
  • Keep a clean and organized work area.
  • Utilize and maintain kitchen equipment properly.
  • Receive and store incoming deliveries efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Basic skills in knife handling.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Previous experience in a prep cook role.
  • Ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Dedication to high-quality service and food knowledge.
  • Capability to handle sharp and heavy kitchen tools.
  • Experience with kitchen machinery, including slicers, ovens, grinders, and mixers.
