The Credentialing Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining quality assurance within the organization. This position is responsible for a variety of credentialing processes related to healthcare professionals, including physicians and allied health practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all credentialing activities comply with legal, federal, and state regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports detailing credentialing activities, including accreditation and membership status.
- Application Processing: Manage the processing of initial applications and reappointments, ensuring timely and accurate handling of all documentation.
- Data Management: Maintain and update the Echo database with precise information regarding education, training, experience, and licensure of providers.
- Committee Preparation: Organize materials for Credentials Committee meetings, Medical Executive Committee (MEC) sessions, and Board of Trustees meetings.
- Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality of provider information throughout all credentialing processes.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and, when necessary, attend site-based medical staff department meetings, taking minutes as required.
- Dues Management: Process and collect dues for site-based medical staff.
- Data Accuracy: Compile and maintain current and accurate data for all healthcare providers.
- Expiration Tracking: Monitor and track license and certification expirations for all providers.
