About Our Client

Our client is a rapidly growing, global catering company that partners with well-known companies such as Delta Airlines. Located near Glenview, they are seeking a Controller to join their team due to the immense growth they are experiencing.

Job Description

The Controller will be a key driver in improving efficiency and profitability of the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and presenting financial reports and budgets throughout the year.
  • Informing management about significant variances and their effects on operations.
  • Developing forecasts and budgets on a monthly and annual basis as needed.
  • Managing and reconciling fixed assets with the unit's general ledger.
  • Overseeing the competitive bidding process, identifying accounting and financial issues, and proposing timely solutions.
  • Monitoring and authorizing all purchases, expenses, salaries, sales, and payments.
  • Analyzing financial data and recommending actions to enhance profitability.
  • Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, and coordinating and delegating tasks to accounting staff as required.
  • Supervising Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Ensuring internal control over revenues, assets, and liabilities, and maintaining accounts according to standardized systems.
  • Guaranteeing accurate accounting and timely financial reporting to management.
  • Assessing departmental performance and adjusting operations as necessary to achieve overall goals and objectives.
  • Creating strong relationships with clients, vendors, banking institutions, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance (or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with inventory process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge (V-Lookup, pivot tables, macros, complex formulas).
  • Software system experience (Microsoft Navision is a plus).
