Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by conducting routine and stat laboratory tests.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests with precision and accuracy, following established standards and practices.
- Operate instruments and equipment accurately, using established protocol and quality control measures.
- Evaluate test results to ensure validity and accuracy before reporting values.
- Recognize abnormal or unusual test results and take appropriate action.
- Collect and process specimens using correct technique, policy, and protocol.
- Verify patient and specimen identification and properly label specimens.
- Instruct new employees, students, and residents in laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Restock supplies, maintain a clean and organized work area, and document receipt and opening of supplies.
- Review pending logs, worksheets, and other documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Observe and respond to safety violations and report personal exposure to hazardous situations.
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- None required, but a Bachelor's degree in combination with a certificate or diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course may be considered.
