We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse or Circulator to join our team at Townsen Memorial Hospital's Med Center location in Houston, TX.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will possess effective listening and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and a strong understanding of the intra-operative nursing setting. As a Registered Nurse or Circulator, you will be responsible for developing and updating patient care plans, following nursing processes, and managing patient assignments and other area demands.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and update patient care plans in partnership with patients and families using the nursing process.
  • Follow nursing processes and modify care based on continuous evaluation of patient conditions.
  • Plan for routine events, anticipate and prevent emergent situations, and manage patient care in a timely manner.
  • Report near misses and errors promptly to improve systems and processes.
  • Manage patient assignments and other area demands.
  • Address patient needs during admission to the operating room.
  • Prepare the operating room according to patient and procedure requirements.
  • Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room.
  • Assist with identification and confirmation of operative site.
  • Complete patient care responsibilities in a timely manner with accurate documentation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Intra-Operative Care.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of Texas; License must remain active and unencumbered while employed.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
