Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse/Practical Nurse to join our team at the Folkston Detention Center in Folkston, GA. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support the medical team in a fast-paced detention center environment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct care to patients within your scope of practice, performing functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing, and/or competencies.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as ordered, using various routes such as oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous, topical, ophthalmic, and enteral/parenteral.
- Intake Screening: Perform prescreening and intake screening of patients newly arrived at the facility, using established intake tools to gather subjective and objective data, and referring abnormal findings or responses to a registered nurse, medical provider, or behavioral health provider as appropriate.
- Treatments and Procedures: Perform various treatments such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, and collect laboratory specimens, as ordered by a medical provider, dental provider, behavioral health provider, or registered nurse.
- Education: Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting, with experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.
- Licensure: Maintains current GA or Compact state LVN license, and reports any changes to the employer immediately.
- Full-time Opportunity: 40 hours per week, with part-time and PRN scheduling available.
- Predictable Income: Consistent and predictable income, with paid vacation and paid sick leave.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Full complement of benefits, including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401k, and more for those working at least 28 hours per week on a consistent basis.
