Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Jackson Healthcare Government Services. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing vital sign checks, and conducting laboratory tests.
- Conduct prescreening and intake screening of patients, gathering subjective and objective data, and referring abnormal findings to registered nurses or medical providers as needed.
- Perform various treatments, such as wound care, electrocardiograms, and vital sign checks, as ordered by medical providers or registered nurses.
- Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
- Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration.
- Assist other healthcare professionals in gathering subjective and objective data, providing aspects of care, and educating patients.
- Graduate from a Vocational/Practical Nurse program approved by a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital, medical office, or outpatient clinical setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting preferred.
- Current, full, and unrestricted LVN/LPN license by the state in which the duty station is located, or a compact state that allows practice in the state in which the duty station is located.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional or Certified Corrections Nurse credential preferred.

- Integrity and honesty.
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish (preferred, not required).
- Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting (preferred, not required).
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and respond to medical emergencies. The work may require physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, or jogging unaided over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces. The work may also require specific physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility and dexterity, visual, and hearing capabilities.
Security RequirementsThe Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Security Unit (PSU) must render an Initial Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination to be considered a qualified candidate. A Complete Favorable Fitness Determination must be rendered by PSU upon completion of initial, and between, subsequent background investigations to meet the requirements of this position.
