About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Groundhand Laborer to join our Telecom Underground team at Bigham Cable Construction. As a Groundhand Laborer, you will play a critical role in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Tasks: Load, deliver, dig, and operate equipment to support underground construction projects.
  • Telecom Cabling Installation: Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling to ensure reliable and efficient communication networks.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate construction equipment, including utility trucks and hand tools, to support project needs.
  • Site Restoration: Assist with site restoration efforts to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate with team members to ensure effective project execution.
  • Reporting: Complete daily production reports to track project progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Authorization: Must have authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience safely operating various hand tools and utility trucks is preferred.
Physical Abilities and Exposures
  • Routine Tasks: Work alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift greater than 55 pounds.
  • Occasional Tasks: Use ladder, keyboard, and mouse.
