About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Groundhand Laborer to join our Telecom Underground team at Bigham Cable Construction. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in all phases of underground construction, including loading, delivery, digging, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Delivery: Safely load and deliver materials and equipment to construction sites.
  • Construction Tasks: Perform various construction tasks, including digging, operating equipment, and maintaining work areas.
  • Telecommunications Cabling: Install underground telecommunications cabling and ensure its proper functioning.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Clearly communicate with team members and collaborate to achieve project goals.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete daily production reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Site Restoration: Assist with site restoration efforts and ensure that work areas are left in a safe and clean condition.
Requirements
  • Age and Authorization: Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States for this company.
  • Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience. Previous experience safely operating various hand tools and utility trucks is preferred.
  • Physical Abilities: Routinely work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles and heavy machinery, and perform tasks that require fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds.
