Job Summary

The Night Shift Counselor position is a vital role in creating a therapeutic milieu for emotionally disturbed children. This position requires a unique blend of direct and non-direct care duties, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe living environment for children in care.
  • Operate the program as designed and directed, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Accept supervision and work within a team approach to treatment.
  • Develop relationships with children in care, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Communicate clearly and precisely, responding to the needs of children in care.
  • Provide consistency and structure, serving as a role model for our residents.
  • Administer medications to children according to policies and procedures.
  • Provide continuous overnight awake coverage for children, meeting standards of professional performance.
Requirements
  • Sound moral character.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interest and insight to seek supervision and respond to it with growth and change.
  • Experience working with troubled children in a professional or volunteer setting.
  • Basic knowledge of childhood development as acquired through staff training.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.
