  • Gather, identify, and compile observational and spatial data regarding various ecological components, including vegetation, wildlife, and environmental samples.
  • Utilize topographic maps, aerial imagery, and GPS technology to accurately locate project sites and habitat types.
  • Assist in the preparation of biological survey documentation, data management, impact assessments, and support permitting processes for various projects.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards for precise measurements, statistical evaluations, and reporting.
  • Conduct professional biological work, including investigations and environmental studies to assess ecological conditions and inform future planning.
  • Create data visualizations, such as tables and charts, to effectively communicate findings and analyses.
  • Draft technical reports summarizing research outcomes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in biological surveying and environmental assessments.
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including the Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act.
  • Experience with NEPA and CEQA processes.
  • Proficiency in electronic data collection and spatial data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with local ecology and habitats.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Critical thinking abilities to analyze data and solve complex problems.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills for reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
