Job Description and Duties

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Accountant Trainee to join our team at the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). As an Accountant Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of financial tasks, including research and posting of receipts to projects, maintaining advance payment tracking logs, and providing cost documentation for invoice dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and post receipts to projects in the Cost Recovery Management System (CRMS)
  • Maintain advance payment tracking log and communicate with project manager on the status of payment
  • Update site billing status and notes
  • Provide cost documentation for invoice dispute resolution
  • Analyze and document cost data in support of invoices
  • Provide critical litigation support services by gathering and analyzing all cost documentations
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in the area of accounts receivable preferred
  • Excel and Word software experience
  • Customer service oriented
Working Conditions:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available for this position. A minimum of 2 days per week in office.
