Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning and performing accounting policy work, including updating guidelines and budget documents.
- Review and analyze proposed accounting standards and legislative proposals, preparing written analysis on their impact on local governments.
- Assist in planning and facilitating the Controller's Annual Conference with County Auditors, representing the SCO at various work group meetings.
- Consult with staff from local, state, or federal agencies, CPA firms, or interested parties, addressing technical issues related to financial accounting and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, governmental accounting, and budgeting.
- Project planning and organization techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation techniques.
- Ability to analyze accounting policies and procedures, research and apply current industry standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with local government officials, on committees and working groups.
