Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to coordinate and process all aspects of the bi-weekly payroll function, as well as assist with benefits administration, workers compensation, and disability claims filing and follow-up.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to maintain a positive image of the entity in the community, and be willing to take on-call services as assigned.

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
  • Responsible for entire bi-weekly payroll process, as well as quarterly and year-end payroll reporting.
  • Maintain payroll and personnel records.
  • Process new, terminated and status changes for employees. Including time clock, payroll system, benefits and notification to IT for security access.
  • Review benefits and obtain required documentation.
  • Process federal and state taxes, garnishments, and child support.
  • Responsible for enrollment, changes, cancellation, and payment submission for employee health, dental, life & disability insurance, flex plan and 401k retirement plan.
  • Responsible for employee leave of absences, including required FMLA documentation and tracking, collection of insurance premiums and loans.
  • Submit disability and workers compensation claims.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in related field.
  • Five years payroll and personnel experience.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping system and payroll software.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Typing and filing abilities.
  • Commitment to quality outcomes and services for all individuals.
  • Ability to relate well to all individuals.
  • Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
