Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Lassonde Pappas & Co., Inc. is a leading beverage manufacturing company dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget, and within scope. This role will report to the Engineering Director and be based out of our Seabrook, NJ location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of projects, including identifying potential projects, creating project submittals, developing and tracking Microsoft project schedules, managing capital spending, forecasting and tracking cashflows, setting deadlines, assigning project responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of projects.
  • Focused on packaging and process-related projects and any other projects as needed.
  • Commercialize required packaging and process innovations as well as identify improvement projects.
  • Prepare engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Provide technical support and direction to the manufacturing plants.
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identify, develop, and gather resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Support projects across the Lassonde network and as such requires up to 75% travel.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree.
  • 10 years of packaging experience, preferably in the beverage industry.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Hotfill and Aseptic manufacturing.
  • Solid knowledge of blow molding PET bottles.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Good communication skills, particularly to Senior leadership.
  • Understand OSHA/FDA/USDA/EPA requirements in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule across all shifts to execute work as needed.
  • Competency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Proven organizational skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical manufacturing setting.

Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
