Audiologist Staff - Sacramento, CA

QTC Medical Group Inc., dba QTC Medical Group California, is seeking an Audiologist to join our team in Sacramento, CA. As an Audiologist with QTC Medical Group Inc., you will apply the principles of hearing science and audiology to formulate an Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) and/or independent medical exam to a unique claimant population of past and present military service members.

The scope of practice of the audiologist is to provide a professional opinion to the severity of the hearing problem, the diagnosis, the causation, and assessing the probability that the hearing problem is related to military service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret a variety of tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, such as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination tests.
  • Evaluate test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational and conduct medical record reviews of past audiograms and documents to determine the likely cause of the hearing loss, and to state the prognosis and address the issues of hearing loss and tinnitus.
  • Operate computerized programs and utilize application software and databases in order to enter, modify, and access information into/from electronic medical records, and utilizing report writing formats.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality with written and verbal information per HIPAA.
  • Responsible for conducting otoscopic examinations, cerumen management, and calibration checks of audiometric equipment.
  • Lead paraprofessional staff training for Audiology specific skills and certifications as required by all LOB.
  • Completion of Veterans Benefits Administration Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs).

Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Au. D) from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 5+ years of clinic practice experience.
  • Professional experience directly related or desire to work with Compensation and Pension Examination, and experience with hearing conservation programs/and or noise conservation programs preferred but not required.
  • Currently licensed Audiologist in state employed and license shall be unrestricted.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and/or American Academy of Audiology (AAA) certification prior to hire. Will reimburse for cost.
  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Government Clearances (LARS/Public Trust Clearance, etc.).
