Position: Assistant Professor - Osteopathic Medicine

Location: Davie-Fort Lauderdale Campus

Key Responsibilities:

This role encompasses the duties of our Faculty - Public Health at K. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Deliver high-quality instruction and mentorship to undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program. Collaborate with the Dean and fellow faculty to enhance the learning experience and engagement of students at NSU and within the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

  • Instruct the equivalent of eight course sections annually in the Department of Public Health.
  • Design curriculum and program development as assigned.
  • Select appropriate teaching and evaluation methods tailored to student needs.
  • Align class schedules with curriculum, program, and course objectives.
  • Encourage diverse perspectives and respond to student inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain office hours for student mentoring, tutoring, and consultation.
  • Engage in departmental, college, and university committees and meetings.
  • Exhibit flexibility in scheduling courses and meetings to support the college's mission.
  • Participate in recognized community service activities that contribute to professional development.
  • Advise students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program.
  • Engage in student recruitment initiatives.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience and/or training, including research or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical literature.

Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral or terminal degree.
