Job Title: Mental Health Aide

Join UHS, a leading healthcare provider, in a challenging and rewarding role as a Mental Health Aide. In this position, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate care to children and adolescents with a range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders, and autism.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of clinical team members.
  • Facilitate a therapeutic and safe milieu by interacting with clients and ensuring proper resident supervision.
  • Assist individuals with personal hygiene and appearance, including tooth brushing, bathing, toileting, haircare, and dressing.
  • Be attentive to individual medical issues and alert supervisors to changes in health or problems related to medication or medical equipment.
  • Perform Q15 observation rounds while maintaining ethical boundaries.
  • Work closely with education, recreation therapy, BCBA, and RBT to support individual goals.
  • Assist the teacher in the classroom as an instructional aide.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED required; BA or BS degree in a related mental health field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with behavioral health patients, children, adolescents, and/or special needs populations strongly preferred.
  • One year of experience in a mental health setting also preferred.
  • Successful completion of CPR certification, age-specific training, and patient aggression management training within 90 days of employment.
