The Neurosurgery Department is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient team from 12:00pm - 8:30pm, focusing on follow-up care coordination and discharge planning.

The APP is a licensed position that operates within an expanded specialty scope.
The role encompasses the assessment and management of patients, including the ability to order diagnostic tests, consultations, therapeutic interventions, and the daily execution and evaluation of a suitable care plan.

The APP enhances a physician's capacity to deliver medical services to patients; responsibilities include collecting and documenting patient data, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, scheduling laboratory studies and consultations, and providing direct patient care services.


Key Responsibilities:


Utilizes knowledge of anatomy, neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, and medical terminology as applicable in an urgent care environment, aligned with the level of medical licensure.


Conducts thorough patient assessments and physical examinations, gathers clinical data including vital signs, collects specimens, prepares patients for tests and treatments, interprets medical laboratory results, diagnoses medical conditions, administers medications or treatments, and performs minor surgical procedures.

Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the techniques necessary to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including understanding symptoms, treatment options, drug properties, interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.


Staffs our outpatient addiction medicine clinic alongside attending physicians.


Coordinates care for inpatient consult services for patients admitted to various other services, including Trauma, Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, and Ob/Gyn.

Manages care for emergency department patients presenting with opioid use disorder and related issues.


Collaborates with attending physicians to provide clinical support and education for healthcare providers treating patients with opioid use disorder.


Engages with community partners to improve access to medically assisted therapy for opioid use disorder.


Ensures accurate patient coding for effective billing, maintains detailed patient medical records, and oversees the inventory of medical supplies and instruments.


Acts as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to facilitate the efficient flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge, including patient triaging.
