Clinical Social Worker Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Clinical Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care services to individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans to address patients' clinical needs.
  • Provide supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and brief therapy to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise bachelors and masters level students and act as a liaison to the community through public speaking.
  • Participate in clinical training and supervision as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program.
  • 3 years' experience post-master's required.
  • Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date.

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps).
  • May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
