Sparrow Health System is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient rehabilitation team.

Job Description

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain their independence and functionality after injury or illness. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate patients' functional status, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement occupational therapy procedures to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and assessing patients' functional status, including areas such as ADLs, joint function, coordination, endurance, body mechanics, and cognitive skills.
  • Developing realistic, functional goals in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • Employing principles of teaching and learning to educate patients and their families on restoring function for optimal participation in daily activities.
  • Performing treatment according to established plans, utilizing various modalities, equipment, and techniques within the scope of occupational therapy.
  • Documenting assessment, plan, care given, and patient response in the patient record.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and rehabilitation programs.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • State of Michigan OT licensure.
  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
  • BLS certification (within 6 months of hire).

**Estimated Salary Range:** $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
