Position Overview

A prominent player in the agricultural sector, specializing in the growth, packaging, and distribution of fresh produce, is seeking a dynamic leader to manage all aspects of harvesting operations. The Senior Vice President of Agricultural Operations will be responsible for the annual harvesting of millions of packages of high-quality vegetables across multiple regions.

This pivotal leadership position requires close collaboration with the executive leadership team, interaction with various departments, and the mentorship of team members. The role is primarily based in a key agricultural region, with occasional travel to other growing areas as necessary. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Harvesting division is tasked with the continuous management of the harvest process for a vast array of fresh vegetables. With cultivation sites located in various regions, the department evaluates crop quality and yield, providing essential data to the Sales division. Coordination with Production and Operations teams is critical to ensure a steady supply that meets the demands of the customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight and direction of harvesting operations
  • Management of the harvest process for millions of cartons of fresh produce, including diverse vegetables
  • Supervision of operations across multiple agricultural regions
  • Development and maintenance of harvest and labor budgets
  • Implementation of strategies to minimize product rejection rates
  • Collaboration with various departments and leadership of large teams

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in harvesting operations
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and writing skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift weights up to 60 lbs
