Prairie Land Electric Cooperative (PLEC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for the role of Director of Finance (DOF). This pivotal position will oversee essential functions including Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, Billing, and Collections.

As a vital member of the senior leadership team, the DOF will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in the strategic planning and execution processes of the Cooperative. The successful candidate will lead the establishment of financial strategies that align with PLEC's mission and objectives.

To qualify, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience. While technical expertise is crucial, the ability to foster a collaborative team environment is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership in financial operations and ensuring compliance with GAAP and FERC's Uniform Systems of Accounts.
  • Managing budgeting processes, controls, utility plant accounting, rate design, risk management, and investment portfolio management.
  • Effectively communicating financial data to the Board, management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
