Job Responsibilities:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of transportation operations. Your primary duties will include:

  • Overseeing the closure and dispatch of all shipments in collaboration with the Operations Team.
  • Ensuring that all international shipments are accompanied by the necessary documentation, including Shipper's Export Declarations.
  • Prioritizing international shipments for all outbound logistics.
  • Generating Hazmat documentation and confirming proper labeling by all involved parties.
  • Conducting daily assessments of carrier equipment requirements and door assignments while maintaining communication with carriers.
  • Coordinating with carriers for swaps and live loads.
  • Reviewing all documentation requests related to LTL and TL shipments, including updates on carrier tracking and pro numbers.
  • Ensuring that all outbound cold chain orders are equipped with printed packing lists for scheduling carriers.
  • Verifying proper temperature settings for cold chain shipments and ensuring compliance on bills of lading and manifests.
  • Reconciling open orders with outbound and staged freight in collaboration with the Operations Team.
  • Managing mode conversions as necessary.
  • Communicating with Transportation and Operations teams regarding staged freight, express runs, and city deliveries.
  • Validating the loading process to ensure accuracy on every trailer.
  • Facilitating communications for advanced shipment notice requirements.
  • Providing leadership and supervisory support to the team.
  • Training and guiding staff members effectively.
  • Engaging in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Overseeing the loading of outbound trailers, including validation of pallet counts and proper chain-of-custody transfers.
  • Ensuring a safe loading environment and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Addressing all internal and external shipping requests promptly.
  • Guaranteeing secure load management and closure of all trailers.
  • Communicating effectively with internal departments, clients, and carriers to ensure optimal shipment handling.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
The following qualifications are essential for this role:

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Background in operations with knowledge of the transportation sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in TMS, WMS, auditing tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Mercury Gate or TMS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: HAZMAT certification, degree in Supply Chain or Finance, APICS CSCP.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Power BI and ability to develop reporting and analytics.
