Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs tailored for product validation.
  • Document and update measurement protocols for operational staff utilizing these technologies.
  • Explore and integrate modern technology and equipment to enhance metrology processes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to current programming software.
  • Oversee the Measurement System Analysis (MSA) component of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Collaborate with production teams to validate new CNC machinery and conduct periodic capability assessments.
  • Support engineering and process teams in validating enhancements to manufacturing processes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing metrology environment.
  • Familiarity with measurement instruments such as Nikon microscopes, Keyence systems, and Mitutoyo CMMs with vision software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprints.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software, preferably Creo/Pro-E.
  • Knowledge of quality methodologies including 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of data structures and calibration lab management, including ISO/IEC 17025 and Z540 standards.
